Sound Healing FoundationsSound Healing Foundations is a free introductory course hosted on Insight Timer, designed to give you a grounded understanding of why sound works as a healing tool before you ever pick up an instrument. It covers the principles behind frequency, resonance, and the body's response to sound — the "why" beneath everything we do at Sonic Arts. Whether you are brand new to sound healing or simply looking to deepen your understanding, this is the place to begin. It is free, self-paced, and available to anyone.

The Sound Tech Hub The Sound Tech Hub is a free companion resource that bridges the gap between healing intention and the technical side of sound. It walks you through the tools, signal chain concepts, and workflow language that Jim uses in sessions and in the Sonic Arts preset catalog — so that when you hear terms like reverb tail, looping, or signal chain in a lesson or a Grand Immersion, you already know what they mean. Together, Sound Healing Foundations and the Sound Tech Hub give you the conceptual foundation and the technical vocabulary to get the most out of everything else on this page. Both are free. Every culture on earth has understood — in some form, in some language — that sound is a technology. A technology of healing, of consciousness, of transformation. Ancient builders encoded it into stone. Modern neuroscience is now confirming what they knew. Resonance is where those two streams meet.

This is a live, in-person workshop that moves through three distinct movements — lecture, history, and ceremony — before closing with a complete Grand Immersion sound healing experience. Participants leave having understood something new and felt something true.

The Science — What current research reveals about sound and the nervous system, the brain, and cellular physiology. Binaural beats, frequency entrainment, brainwave states, and the measurable effects of immersive sound on the body.

The History — What ancient cultures understood about sound that we are only now rediscovering. Archaeoacoustics: sacred sites designed with intentional acoustic properties, the oldest instruments of humanity, and the evidence that sound was never incidental — it was the point.

The Grand Immersion — The workshop closes not with a lecture, but with an experience. A sustained live ceremony featuring the full Sonic Arts instrument palette: crystal singing bowls, Tibetan and Himalayan bowls, wind gong, crystal pyramid, Native American bass flute, Slovak fujara, throat singing, classical guitar, and Ashley's healing voice — woven into a 30–45 minute immersive sound environment.

A tutorial teaches technique. An initiation opens a door. The Sonic Arts Initiation Series is built around one standard: by the end of each lesson, you have produced your first healing-quality sound on that instrument — not a practice sound, a healing sound. Every lesson is structured around three elements: Lineage (where this instrument comes from and why it heals), Technique (the minimum viable physical skill to reach the healing experience), and Intention (how to bring healing purpose to what you play). Each series includes a PDF companion — a one-page practice reference you keep beside you between lessons.
